Welcome to "AE-PRO" - the European Adult Education Professionals Learning Platform
Background
In 2013 a group of adult educators from across Europe came together to see how they could disseminate, accredit and enhance experience of adult learning electronically. The first course, looking at the various aspects of adult education across Europe, was so successful that a second phase was created looking at adult education in the future. Those courses stand as resources and the sustained "AE PRO" platform continues to provide stimulation, inspiration, and learning around adult education in the EU.
Introduction to Adult Learning in Europe
This course offers a brief introduction to adult learning in Europe. It will provide participants with a basic understanding of the main concepts behind non-formal adult learning and education, and how it is practiced in selected European countries. The course will also introduce participants to the concept of advocacy and examples of successful advocacy initiatives. The course has been developed by the European Association for the Education of Adults with the use of already existing resources. All of the videos and background reading included in the course have been produced either by EAEA in the framework of its EU-funded project work or by its member organisations, as clarified in each module.
Beyond Learning: Voices of learners and educators in green transition
Beyond Learning: Voices of learners and educators in green transition is a course that complements EAEA’s podcast Beyond Learning. On the podcast, EAEA interviews learners, educators and community organisers about why learning should be at the heart of a greener future, and how it has already shaped their lives and communities. The e-learning course includes additional material about the case studies and topics discussed.
REGALE: “Regional capacity for Adult Learning and Education”
RegALE aims to increase the impact and sustainability of regional/local adult education (AE) organisations by setting up or reinforcing networks among them and with regional/local authorities. The most significant project outcome will be an increase in the partners’ capacity (and of their target groups/members) to respond to their challenges, build cooperation structures, and promote an adult education culture in cities/regions. In the framework of the project, a comprehensive and inspiring online course composed of 11 modules was recently launched by the consortium.FutureLabAE: “Change-oriented Adult education”
The FutureLabAE project addresses two main issues: the situation of democracy in Europe, where an increasing number of citizens, who, discontent with the political establishment, start leaning towards xenophobic and populist parties or choose not to vote at all; and the the alarmingly high number of people in Europe who lack basic skills, especially digital skills, leaving parts of the population unable to benefit from the digital transformation. In the framework of the project, two online courses were launched: the first is focused on change-oriented adult education and digitalisation, and the second is focused on change-oriented adult education and democracy.
UP-AEPRO: “Innovate – Learn, Share, Act”
This course is about the Upskilling Pathways initiative (UP) and was implemented as a part of UP-AEPRO project, which addresses the constant need and interest of adult education (AE) trainers and staff to learn more about European developments in adult education and other countries’ systems and innovation.
Content is available online, so it's possible to join any courses anytime. You can participate in individual sessions based on your interest, or the whole course.
